Kids were able to be creative and let their artistry skills loose and paint their own canvas, sip on a slushy, and have some snacks. Kids had access to 4 different photo backdrops and were able to stage a photo scene and then use multiple cameras and videography to make movies, advertisements and take instant pictures. Everyone was able to enter in a drawing to win a digital camera. Congrats to Ilana, the winner of the digital camera! It was another FARMtastic Day at Arcadia Housing Authority. We had the Animal Fest at AHA - part of the Suncoast Remake Learning Days fun free hands-on learning experience. We had pictures with Butters the micro highland cow, enjoyed fun coloring activities, the kids made their own stethoscopes, played on a tractor and enjoyed treats from an Ice Cream truck. AHA celebrated our 10th Annual Community Day on February 14, 2025. An opportunity to provide information from community agencies and resources to our residents and those in the community, and don't forget our terrific DJ (Dan the Man!) and our delicious lunch provided by Jimmey at TK Grill food truck.

A $2000.00 donation to the kids holiday event was presented at the 2024 Charity Banquet on June 26, 2024 from the Knights of Columbus Council 8074, Punta Gorda, FL.

AHA hosted two workshops by Mrs. Hope Cross as she taught valuable skills to help themselves and others grow and change in a positive direction. Hands on activities working with others to create change within.

Home Depot and Staff from the North Port, FL location provided the supplies and instructions for the kids to build their own bird feeder - from start to finish - build, hammer, glue and paint!

AHA hosted the Desoto County Historical Society - Staff from the Society taught the kids how to catch a fish with a cane pole, learn to type on a typewriter, juice an orange by hand, dip a pen into an ink bottle, pump water and participate in a bucket brigade to learn and understand the history of Arcadia and Desoto County.

It was a FARMtastic day at Arcadia Housing Authority yesterday, we had the Animal Fest at AHA - Part of the Suncoast Remake Learning Days.
